About Wangmangling
Wangmangling is a mountain landscape in Lingchuan County’s Gujiao area, on the southern Taihang escarpment. Layered cliffs, abrupt edges and successive ridgelines are its main visual features. The lower Xiyagou valley adds a human story to the scenery through its village and the road cut into the cliff.
The Xiyagou cliff road reflects a prolonged local effort to improve access through difficult mountain terrain. Its tunnel openings reveal the thickness of the rock wall and the engineering challenge of joining the valley to surrounding routes. Seen together, the road and the ridges make the relationship between settlement and topography particularly clear.
From an authorised viewpoint, first follow the outline of the escarpment, then look for the valley and road within it. Clouds sometimes conceal or reveal successive ridges, but clear skies provide a different and equally useful view of the landforms. The scenic area’s name has legendary associations; those stories should be read separately from the documented history of the village road.

Use 陵川王莽岭 and 西哑沟 for the relevant areas. Verify visitor transport rules; the presence of a cliff road does not imply unrestricted self-driving.
