About Wuliangye Distillery Industrial Tour
Built by the Wuliangye Group, the tourism area has a planned extent of about 18 square kilometres and is designated a national AAAA tourist area, a national industrial tourism demonstration site and one of Sichuan's first provincial-level industrial tourism demonstration bases. The Jiangbei headquarters base on the north bank of the Min River is the part known as the 'ten-li liquor city'. Just inside the plant's East Gate stands the Wuliangye Liquor Culture Museum, founded in 1988.
Anle Shenquan, in the core of the tourism area, was once a water source for the distillery's brewing; it takes its name from the Northern Song writer and calligrapher Huang Tingjian, who while living at Rongzhou drank a liquor called Yaozi Xueque made with water from the Anle spring and wrote the piece Anlequan Song about it. At the modern end, Workshop 523 runs 1,600 metres long and more than 200 metres wide over about 350,000 square metres, was completed and brought into production in 2003, and holds 13,112 fermentation pits with an annual capacity of 40,000 tonnes of liquor.
The Wuliangye Bottle Building stands 74.8 metres high; the Shanghai Great World Guinness body rated it in 2003 as the largest physical advertisement in the world.
