About Qingshui Cliffs — Viewpoint Access Check

Qingshui Cliffs (清水断崖) form the abrupt meeting of mountains and the Pacific along the Suhua coast in Xiulin Township. Near-vertical pale rock faces descend towards deeply coloured coastal water, leaving only a narrow corridor for the road and other transport infrastructure. The cliffs are part of Taroko National Park's coastal landscape, separate from the inland marble-gorge visit.

The impressive feature is the compressed mountain-to-sea distance. From a suitable authorised viewpoint, layers of rock, cliff vegetation and changes in water colour appear in the same view. The Tourism Administration describes viewing areas near Chongde, but a description of the landscape does not establish that every platform or connecting path is operating.

This entry therefore retains its specific viewpoint-check requirement. Compare the current park notice with the exact place you intend to stop, especially after earthquake damage, heavy rain or road works. Plan an established stopping point rather than pulling over along the road for a photograph; the coast's steep form is also what makes access constrained.
