About Wuliangshan Cherry Blossom Valley
The valley's tea gardens, covering more than a thousand mu, have tens of thousands of cherry trees planted among the tea bushes; the trees flower in December, when much of northern China is under winter cold. The seasonal bloom draws visitors from across the country to see the pink blossom against the tea terraces, sometimes combined with cloud-sea views over the valley.
Nanjian Yi Autonomous County has promoted the site under a stated local policy of turning 'tea areas into scenic areas, tea gardens into parks,' integrating tea cultivation with tourism.
