About Xi Shi Hometown
The present hall complex was rebuilt from September 1986 and substantially completed in October 1990. Its designers incorporated architectural components collected from Ming, Qing and Republican-era buildings. The entrance combines a ceremonial archway with a palace-style gate and bears calligraphy by Liu Haisu.
Zheng Dan Pavilion, Chenyu Pool, Huamei Bridge and a gallery of poetry inscriptions give the reconstructed grounds their distinct features. An early-21st-century expansion on the opposite bank of the Huan River created the eastern part of the larger Xishi Hometown destination.
