About Dulan Amis Village

Dulan (都兰) is an Amis community in Donghe Township, with Dulan Mountain behind it and the Pacific in front. This mountain-to-coast setting is central to the place's identity. The mountain has cultural and spiritual significance for the community, while the coastal terraces also contain archaeological evidence of earlier settlement.

Community-led interpretation can introduce traditional territory, local stories and the relationship between people and natural materials. The county's visitor description includes bark-cloth, coconut and bamboo craft activities, alongside food prepared with locally grown vegetables and fish. These are examples of hosted experiences, not a fixed programme available at every visit.

Give Dulan time as a lived-in village, rather than using it only as a roadside photo stop. Choose a named community host to understand the culture behind a craft or meal. The village, archaeological site and mountain trail are different destinations within the wider area, so select the experience first and then check its meeting point and access arrangements.

Location & getting there

Getting to Dulan Amis Village

Use Dulan in Donghe Township on the east-coast road. Book community activities with their host; a visit to the village does not include mountain-trail access.
