About Luodong Forestry Culture Garden
Luodong Forestry Culture Garden (罗东林业文化园区) preserves the timber-handling end of the Taipingshan forestry network in central Luodong. The site began as a forestry office and log-storage pond during Japanese administration. Timber from the mountains reached this lowland processing centre, connecting the forest industry with the growth of the town.
The pond, railway traces and surviving buildings make that working system visible. Look at the relationship between water storage, transport and the nearby offices rather than treating the pond as a purely ornamental lake. The former industrial grounds now also provide an urban habitat and a place for learning about woodland resources.
Logging at Taipingshan ended in 1982, and the forestry authority planned the cultural garden in 2004. The site was registered as a cultural landscape in 2012. A visit here complements the mountain recreation area: Luodong explains how the timber was handled after leaving the forest, while Taipingshan retains the landscape of extraction and mountain transport.

The garden is on Zhongzheng North Road in Luodong, accessible from the town railway station. Check individual exhibition buildings separately from the outdoor grounds.
