About Qinglong Gorge
The Anning city government records the scenic area as covering 19 square kilometres, divided into five zones holding 64 separate sights, and listed at AAAA grade; its rafting section carries the local name 'the premier raft run of central Yunnan'. The surrounding subdistrict runs from 1,883 to 2,343 metres in altitude with 68.28 per cent forest cover, and takes its own name from the Qinglong temple founded in the early Yuan, after which the area was held by the Dong family of native officials under the Ming and called Qinglongli under the Qing. The subdistrict's Zhaojiazhuang cultural-and-tourism belt names the scenic area as its core and draws in Zhaojiazhuang's natural-ecology and ethnic-culture resources. The subdistrict also has a cherry-blossom avenue, fields of rape flowers and sunflowers, and a large cherry orchard.
A subdistrict safety inspection of April 2026 gives a picture of what is installed inside the scenic area, including an entrance and visitor service centre, plant rooms, an amusement-ride area, boardwalks running beside the water and under cliffs, and marked evacuation routes, with large amusement rides, a cableway and sightseeing vehicles among the special equipment on the register.
