About Qiongtai Fairy Valley
Baxian Lake occupies the lower reservoir of the Tongbai pumped-storage power station. A covered bridge runs across its dam, while paths follow the lakeside beneath the crags. Farther into Baizhangkeng, the rock walls draw closer together and the open lake gives way to a narrow gorge.
The valley's smaller landmarks include Baizhang Waterfall and Longtan Pool, as well as a cliff inscription designed like an old coin. Its surrounding characters combine with the square-shaped character at the centre to form the phrase 'I alone know contentment', adding a playful written detail to the rock-and-water scenery.
