About Taihu Moon Bay Lakeshore
Designed by MAD Architects, the hotel sets a circular silhouette against the lake and uses its reflection as part of the composition. Bands of white aluminum and glass emphasize the curved facade. From the lakefront, the building reads as a piece of waterside architecture framing the sky and water.
The surrounding public squares and paths belong to a shoreline transformed by environmental restoration that the wider Taihu resort began in late 2008. Fisherman’s Wharf, with its pedestrian arch bridge and reorganized floating restaurant area, adds a smaller-scale waterfront scene. The interest here lies in the changing views between open Taihu, the landscaped shore and the hotel exterior.
