About Tiantai Mountain Great Waterfall
The cascade descends a total of 325 metres through the mountain-and-pool setting. Plans for Tongbai Reservoir and a hydroelectric station began in 1958 to serve irrigation and electricity needs; their construction altered the terrain and cut off the waterfall's flow. The restoration was taken up in 2013, and the scenic area began trial operation in April 2020. Channels and a regulating pool allow the restored waterfall's flow to be controlled.
