About Zhaowangcheng Ruins Park
The archaeological complex had eastern, western and northern compounds, with substantial platforms and rammed-earth walls marking former buildings and boundaries. Longtai, in the western compound, is the clearest named anchor for reading the old palace layout. Approach the park as a landscape of foundations: low rises, alignments and the relationship between mounds carry more meaning than a reconstructed roofline would.
What to look for
- Longtai, the large palace platform in the western royal-city compound.
- Surviving rammed-earth walls and the alignment of other platforms, which reveal the former city's layout.
