About Zhang Juzheng Former Residence
Courtyard halls, including Taiyue Hall, organise the story of his life, political career and later commemoration. The present visitor complex reopened after restoration in 2008; it should not be mistaken for an untouched sixteenth-century family house. Its position just inside Jingzhou’s eastern old-city area makes it a useful focused stop alongside the gate and wall, especially for visitors interested in governance and historical memory.
What to look for
- The courtyard-hall sequence and interpretation of Zhang Juzheng’s career.
- Taiyue Hall and the memorial presentation of his writings and reputation.
The surrounding area
