About Huanggangliang Mountain

The forest park's characteristic scenery includes open stands of mixed trees with grass growing between them, as well as denser woodland and meadow. Changes in tree cover and elevation create a succession of forested slopes, open ground and views across the valleys.

Huanggangliang Reservoir, also called Qixing Lake, lies inside the park on the upper Huanggang River. Larches beside the water and the winding river valley are distinctive features. In autumn, foliage adds yellow, green and red to the mountain slopes, with trees reflected in the reservoir.

What to look for

  • Mixed conifer and broadleaf woodland opening onto grassland.
  • Qixing Lake, the reservoir on the upper Huanggang River.
  • The winding Huanggang River valley and autumn-coloured slopes.
