About Dalu Island
Moon Bay and Shuangzhu Beach form the island's prominent sandy frontage. Coastal restoration has also shaped the modern landscape: in 2020, the village removed sea-cucumber farming enclosures and a causeway to help restore the surrounding marine environment.
The Battle of the Yellow Sea took place in nearby waters on 17 September 1894. The Jiawu memorial cemetery and a statue of naval commander Deng Shichang connect the island to this history, adding a commemorative dimension to its beaches and maritime culture.
