About Qixinghe Wetland Birdwatching Area
Wild red-crowned and white-naped cranes, spoonbills and geese use the wider wetland. Reeds, shallow water and the edges of thawing spring ice create different feeding and resting places, so birds can be dispersed across the landscape rather than gathered beside a viewpoint.
Birdwatching platforms and organized nature-education activities form part of the reserve’s public interpretation. This is a conservation setting with managed observation, and the service station in a nearby village is separate from the protected wetland itself.
What to look for
- Reedbeds and open wetland water viewed from the birdwatching area.
- Wild waterbirds feeding or resting across the marsh, with sightings varying by season and conditions.
