West Bund Riverside (西岸滨江) is the Xuhui waterfront along Shanghai's Huangpu River. Former industrial land has been adapted into public riverside space, cultural venues and places for leisure.

The area's identity combines industrial remnants with contemporary art and architecture. Longteng Avenue connects a series of destinations, including the West Bund Museum and the former cement-factory landscape at Gate M. These are individual venues within a much larger waterfront, so their interiors and programmes should be considered separately from the promenade.

For a manageable first visit, choose one exhibition or architectural stop and combine it with a section of riverside walking. Compare retained industrial structures with the new public spaces around them; this helps explain the district's transformation.
