About Yue Fei Temple
Its original name was Jingzhong Temple, the temple of unswerving loyalty, and it is also referred to as the Yue Fei Memorial Hall. The date of first foundation is unrecorded; the complex now on the site was rebuilt in 1450, the first year of the Jingtai era of the Ming, and added to under the Qing. It is a national key cultural heritage protection unit and a national AAAA tourist area.
The site divides into two parts. The historic buildings hold the sequence of gates, pavilions and family shrines, while an eastward extension built in 2014 on the same ground added museum functions, using set pieces, replicas and modern display techniques. The county gives the whole site as 18,100 square metres, of which the memorial museum area accounts for 11,800 square metres, and its displays cover Yue Fei's life, his military thinking and the later transmission of his reputation.
