About Yuntian Cultural City
The complex is a single giant palace-style structure that gathers traditional Chinese culture and well-known architectural styles together. Yulin city describes it as currently the largest single building in China given over principally to culture, a claim that belongs to the city rather than to any independent register. Its displays are organised around three series of carving in stone, wood and bronze. The attraction belongs to Guangxi Yulin Yuntian Folk Culture World and is known locally as Yuntian Gong, the Yuntian Palace.
The operator's own account of the interior lists a hall of rare timbers and a jade and ceramics hall, a Taiwan culture hall covering that island's building traditions, crafts and minerals, a hall of folk festivals, the Jixian Hall with wood carvings of historical figures and old myths, and a hall of wood-carving craft, together with a classical Chinese garden. The autonomous region's culture and tourism department carried the site at grade 4A in its register of A-grade scenic areas compiled to the end of 2021, listing it there as Yulin Yuntian tourism and culture city.
