Chengjiang, in Du'an Yao Autonomous County, Hechi, Guangxi, gives its name to the Guangxi Du'an Chengjiang National Wetland Park; the viewpoints of the catalogue label are the county's tianchuang or skylights, openings that have developed along the underground river beneath its limestone hills.

About Chengjiang Wetland and Karst Skylight Viewpoints

Du'an lies in west-central Guangxi, in the south of Hechi municipality, and covers 4,095 square kilometres of which limestone hills make up 89 per cent — the county repeats the local saying that it is 'nine parts stone to one part soil'. The county government records more than 300 underground-river skylights within its boundaries and describes the Guangxi Du'an Chengjiang National Wetland Park as, at present, the only wetland park in China that combines river wetland, urban wetland and farmland wetland in a single site; it also ranks the county's underground river system first in China and second in Asia, a claim made by the county itself.

The Du'an Underground River National Geopark, which covers 200 square kilometres on the slope where the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau gives way to the Guangxi basin, is built around a group of these skylights. Its geoheritage is classified in six major categories and thirty-three basic types, and its layout is summarised as 'one river, a hundred skylights, a thousand valleys'; the peach-blossom jellyfish is listed among the rare wildlife within it. The Disu underground river at its centre runs 241 kilometres and is made up of one main stream and twelve tributaries, with several hundred skylights of varying size and shape opening along it. Hechi Daily reports that the skylight sites visitors go to include Tunbang Tianchuang and Jiuling Tianchuang in Dongmiao township, which have car parks and stalls around them.
