About Guxiang Hot Spring
According to the resort's own operator website, it opened on 19 January 2010 with more than 260 guest rooms and suites, including 71 villa-style buildings, every room supplied with hot-spring water and a private soaking pool; the bathing area holds 21 pools of varying size and temperature able to seat more than 1,500 bathers at once, offering natural, mineral-added, therapeutic, stone-slab and shower-spring pools together with a water-play pool, geothermal stone-slab treatments and medicinal baths. In August 2010 the resort passed national scenic-area quality assessment and was approved as a national AAAA-grade scenic area. A 2023 Ministry of Culture and Tourism route feature adds that its other facilities include a hotel, restaurants, a music water bar, a tea house and a barbecue area, and describes the multiple themed pools as suited to winter bathing.
A 2021 report in the Guangxi CPPCC's own newspaper records that, after a 2020 proposal from the Xiangzhou County committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the county trade union federation designated the resort a 'Laibin municipal workers' rest-and-recuperation base' in August 2020, and that the base was upgraded to autonomous-region level that December.
