Kanggu Valley 亢谷

Kanggu is a mountain resort valley in Xingtian village, Dong'an town, Chengkou County, Chongqing, deep in the Daba Mountains at elevations from 1,100 to 2,680 metres. It is a municipal-level tourist resort area and a national AAAA-grade scenic area.

About Kanggu Valley

The county government describes a valley of layered ridges, deep gorges and sharp peaks, locally called the little Zhangjiajie. Forest cover reaches 90 per cent, the year-round average temperature is about 10 degrees and the summer average about 21 degrees, with negative-oxygen-ion concentration given as 18,000 to 32,000 per cubic centimetre. The resort area has been given municipal awards including tourism poverty-alleviation demonstration area, safe demonstration scenic area and a tourism service standardisation brand title.
