About Tongchewan Scenic Area
A Shaanxi provincial government press conference on Ningshan County, published on 10 September 2026, sets out the county's ecotourism plans. For summer it says the county is integrating mountain-and-water resources including 筒车湾, 渔湾逸谷, 上坝河度假区 and 秦岭峡谷乐园, and upgrading stream-wading, rice-field viewing and valley camping; for spring it says it is laying out short flower-viewing, walking and spring-farming products around 子午湖, 筒车湾苍龙峡 and 渔湾逸谷.
The same transcript says the county will fit out standardised visitor service centres in core areas including 城关, 筒车湾, 广货街 and 皇冠.
A 2014 article on the county government's site, credited to 安康日报, records that the county decided that year to develop all-for-one tourism, and that its plan aimed by 2020 to have three areas at national 4A level – 上坝河森林公园, 筒车湾景区 and 秦岭峡谷漂流景区 – alongside four 3A areas and nine key tourism towns. It says 筒车湾景区二期 was among the county's key tourism projects under way in 2014, one of 26 such projects.
The 2014 page treats 筒车湾景区 and 秦岭峡谷漂流景区 as two separate areas, so this record does not place rafting at 筒车湾. Neither source describes what the area contains, whether it is open, what it charges or how to reach it; the 2014 targets are plans and the 2026 statements are plans too, and neither is a statement that the facilities exist.
What to look for
- 筒车湾苍龙峡, the gorge the 2026 press conference names among the county's spring route stops.
- The mountain-and-water setting the conference groups 筒车湾 into, alongside 渔湾逸谷, 上坝河度假区 and 秦岭峡谷乐园.
- The stream-wading, rice-field and valley-camping activities the county says it is upgrading in these areas.
