About Fenghuangling Nature Park in Haidian
Fenghuangling is a mountain park in Sujiatuo, northwestern Haidian District, where rocky peaks, wooded slopes and religious remains meet. It belongs to Beijing’s western mountain landscape. Include Haidian in searches, because a different attraction with the same Phoenix Ridge name stands near the Eastern Qing Tombs in Hebei.
The park describes northern, central and southern visitor areas. Rock formations, cliff inscriptions, small towers and temple sites give the routes different points of interest. The central area connects with Longquan Temple, while other paths focus more strongly on exposed rocks and forest scenery.
Choose a route by its terrain and the features you want to see, rather than assuming all three areas form one easy circuit. On a climb, pause to compare the shapes of the outcrops and their relationship with the wooded slopes. In the heritage sections, use interpretation to distinguish surviving structures from legends associated with the landscape.
What to look for
- Compare rock formations and the large cliff inscription.
- Read the temple and tower remains in their mountain setting.
