Lamp-Wick Cake (灯芯糕) from Guixi (贵溪) takes its name from its narrow, wick-like form. China Tourism News also links the name to its oil content, which allows the cake to burn. Longxingpu (龙兴铺) is a local maker closely associated with this confection.

Rice, sugar and aromatics

A Yingtan (鹰潭) government introduction, republished by China National Radio, describes Longxingpu’s Tieguaili (铁拐李) brand as using late-season rice and white sugar. Its aromatic ingredients include cinnamon, cloves, danggui (当归), baizhi (白芷) and liquorice, among a wider mixture of botanicals.

A long sequence before slicing

China Tourism News lists washing, frying, steaming, grinding, mixing, pressing, holding at a constant temperature, pounding and cutting among the production stages. In its 2023 interview, practitioner Wang Qi (王琪) emphasised preserving the old process without omitting a step. The making technique was included in Jiangxi’s third provincial intangible-cultural-heritage list in 2010.
