Warm Noodle Soup 温面
Warm Noodle Soup is featured among the local specialties of Jilin.

Warm Noodle Soup (温面) is a noodle dish of the Korean (Chaoxianzu, 朝鲜族) community in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture (延边朝鲜族自治州), Jilin, served warm in a stock made from meat and bones, where the region's cold noodles come chilled. Within the prefecture it is the food that Jilin's culture and tourism department and Xinhua pair with the city of Helong (和龙).
Where it comes from
In a May 2024 article that runs through the food of each Yanbian county and city, the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism (吉林省文化和旅游厅) pairs Yanji (延吉) with cold noodles and Helong with warm noodles; a Xinhua report from January 2024 gives Helong the same dish. CCTV describes corn warm noodles (玉米温面) and Yanji cold noodles as the two most representative noodles of the Korean ethnic group.
The dish still appears under Helong's name at local events. At a May Day 2026 sales fair run jointly by eight towns of Helong, China News Service lists "Toudao warm noodles" (头道温面) among the goods shown as "Helong on the tongue" (舌尖上的和龙).
Flavour and texture
A Yanbian traffic and arts radio report, reposted by Yanbian University (延边大学), describes warm noodles as coarse grain given fine treatment, fresh-tasting, savoury and spicy, in a stock made from meat and bones. It presents the bowl as a winter dish for driving off the cold.
How it is eaten
Warm noodles close a barbecue in Helong. A 2023 Xinhua survey of barbecue across Yanbian says a Yanbian skewer meal ends with a noodle dish such as cold noodles, and that people in Helong finish theirs with a bowl of Toudao warm noodles to cut the richness.
