Beigang Duck Rice (北港鸭肉饭) is a rice dish associated with Beigang (北港), in southwestern Yunlin County (雲林縣), Taiwan (臺灣). Steamed duck is cut into shreds and placed over white rice, then dressed with duck fat mixed with fried shallots and aromatic oil.

How it is made

Its construction resembles Chiayi Turkey Rice (嘉義火雞肉飯): duck takes the place of the shredded chicken, and duck fat replaces chicken fat in the dressing.

How it is eaten

Duck rice is commonly sold alongside angelica duck soup, danggui ya (當歸鴨). Some shops also offer ya lu fan (鴨滷飯), combining braised pork from braised-pork rice with the sauce used for duck rice, half of each spooned onto the rice.

Where it comes from

Chinese Wikipedia identifies Beigang as particularly known for duck rice, with numerous shops selling it.
