About Heyuan Dinosaur Museum
Its permanent sections are named Dinosaur Delivery Room, Dinosaur Footprints and Dinosaur Hometown. Together they make the displays more informative than a sequence of reconstructed skeletons alone.
Look at how each kind of evidence answers a different question. Eggs relate to reproduction and nesting, bones to the animals’ bodies, and track material to movement across an ancient surface. The museum forms part of the Heyuan Dinosaur Cultural Park below Guifeng Tower, so visitors can also place the scientific collection within a wider riverside cultural setting.
What to look for
- Egg fossils form a major part of the Dinosaur Delivery Room displays.
- Skeletal material and footprint exhibits provide different evidence about the animals.
- The named permanent sections organise the collection around reproduction, tracks and the local fossil landscape.
