About Liufeng Mountain
The hill reaches 243 metres above sea level and stands about 182 metres above the ground around it, covering 0.96 square kilometres. Its name comes from its six peaks, which the county government lists individually as Longtou, Fengwei, Heli, Guibei, Baozhang and Chongxiao. Around and on them the county names several dozen features, among them the Beidi Temple, the Guanyin Pavilion, the Sanqing Palace, the Daxiong Baodian and the Dafo Hall, together with Yanziyan, Longyindong, the Huanghua Study and the Lanyue Pavilion. The county's account states that the hill was already drawing sightseers in the Song dynasty.
Sanhaiyan, on the west side of the hill, is a cave whose name turns on the image of the sea changing three times into mulberry fields. More than 150 carved inscriptions survive on its stone walls, and the county pairs them with the cave's cool air and its dripstone as its three noted qualities. Liufengshan was chosen in 1998 as one of Qinzhou's new eight scenes and rated a national AAAA-grade tourist scenic area in 2017; the autonomous region's culture and tourism department still listed it at that grade in its register of A-grade scenic areas as at the end of 2021.
