About Longhu Mountain
The Ministry of Ecology and Environment's own nature-reserve directory lists Longhu Mountain as an autonomous-region-level wildlife reserve of 2255.7 hectares, established on 19 November 1980 under the forestry authorities, its protected objects being macaques together with the rock-dwelling cycad Shishan Sutie and the golden camellia Maoban Jinhuacha. The county's media centre describes today's scenic area as combining hills, forest, rock formations and rich flora and fauna, with more than 3,000 wild macaques.
