About Jianfengling
Tianchi is the lake-centred visitor area, while Mingfeng Valley has a constructed loop through characteristic tropical mountain forest. The main peak is another, more demanding objective and should not be casually added to the same short walk. Road distances inside the area are significant, so arrange transport for the particular visitor circuit and allow for mist, rain and an early return.
The reserve lies in southern Hainan, on the boundary between Ledong Li Autonomous County (乐东黎族自治县) and Dongfang City (东方市). Its terrain is predominantly mountainous, its highest peak reaching an elevation of 1,412 metres, and the reserve covers a total area of 20,170 hectares. The local climate is classified as a tropical island monsoon climate, with a rainy season running from May to October and a dry season from November through to the following April; vegetation across the reserve is dominated by tropical mountain rainforest.

Approach through Jianfeng town in Ledong, then continue by the authorised mountain road to your confirmed visitor area. Tianchi and Mingfeng Valley are well beyond the park entrance.
