About Lujiang Academy
The Qing-founded institution moved to this western hillside, where its entrance, lecture hall and inner courtyards developed alongside shrine and temple buildings. The resulting complex brings teaching and commemoration into the same architectural sequence. Its associations with scholars and later political figures are best read through the specific exhibits and inscriptions, keeping the history of earlier institutions separate from the date of the present academy.
What to look for
- The hillside courtyard sequence overlooking the Lu River.
- The relationship between the academy’s lecture halls and associated shrine buildings.
