About A-Ma Cultural Village

Its Tin Hau Palace uses Fujian-style stonework and timber architecture, with a ceremonial approach of carved steps and a gate pavilion. Animal motifs appear along the stairs, while dragon-carved columns and painted stories of A-Ma decorate the main hall. The visit works best as a close look at the approach, gateway and temple; the summit statue is a separate uphill addition.

What to look for

  • The ceremonial steps carry carvings of animals including lions, cranes and dragons.
  • Dragon columns and painted A-Ma stories decorate the Tin Hau Palace main hall.
