About St Dominic's Church
Its former bell tower houses the Treasure of Sacred Art, but both the church and collection are currently closed for maintenance. The church works began on 8 June 2026 and the museum works on 8 July, with completion expected in October. Plan an exterior streetscape stop only where the works permit, and check for an actual reopening notice before arranging an indoor visit.
What to look for
- The yellow facade and dark green doors and windows define the church exterior.
- Largo de São Domingos provides the setting for the church within the old commercial streets.
