About Mount Zheshan and Guangji Temple

Guangji Temple traces its foundation to 894–898. Its familiar name Xiao Jiuhua, or “Little Jiuhua”, recalls the temple’s place in the pilgrimage tradition associated with Mount Jiuhua. Zhe Pagoda forms another landmark in this temple landscape.

The surrounding park adds Cuiming Garden, Shutian Pavilion and Zhongshan Hall to the visit. Higher on Great Zhe Shan, a lookout tower opens the view across Wuhu, giving the site its combination of religious heritage and a climb above the city.

What to look for

  • Guangji Temple and Zhe Pagoda at the historic core of the hill landscape.
  • Cuiming Garden and Shutian Pavilion among the park’s named garden features.
