About Jinhai Lake

Huguang Pagoda, Wanghai Pavilion, and the Juchiya or Jagged Cliff area give the reservoir identifiable viewpoints beyond its general water-sports reputation. Choose a shore-and-viewpoint visit or a mountain-trail extension according to your interests. Boat and other water activities depend on the operator and conditions, while the surrounding hills help explain the lake’s form even from land. The site is a regional outing from Pinggu, not a small lake in central Beijing.

What to look for

  • Huguang Pagoda and Wanghai Pavilion setting: relate the built viewpoints to the open water.
  • Juchiya landscape: compare the cliff-and-hill scenery with the lower lakeside views.

Location & getting there

Getting to Jinhai Lake

The municipal route places the scenic area in Jinhaihu Town, Pinggu, reached from the urban area along the Xinping North Road and Shunping Road corridor.

  • Choose the named scenic-area entrance or activity base in advance; the reservoir has multiple shore destinations.
General visit reminders

Allow room for the terrain and weather when choosing your route. Check the operator’s current trail, shuttle and cableway notices where applicable, and confirm the return connection before setting out. A broad landscape pin does not identify every trailhead or access point.
