About Yaji Mountain

Religious buildings occupy several levels from the foothill to the summits, with Bixia Yuanjun Temple and the Jade Emperor Pavilion forming the upper focus. Lower and middle compounds, including Zixiao Palace and Dongyue Temple, show how the sacred route develops with the climb. Select a lower-temple visit or an ascent toward the twin summits according to your mobility. The relationship between the buildings and their cliff-side positions is central to the experience.

What to look for

  • Twin-summit religious buildings: compare the positions of Bixia Yuanjun Temple and the Jade Emperor Pavilion.
  • Lower and middle temple groups: trace the progression through compounds such as Zixiao Palace and Dongyue Temple.

Location & getting there

Getting to Yaji Mountain

The official address is No. 39 Beijishan Street, Beijishan Village, Liujiadian Town, Pinggu.

  • Start from the scenic-area approach and select a signed route appropriate to your group; reaching the foot of the mountain does not mean the summit temples are level-access sites.
General visit reminders

Choose the building, exhibition or part of the historic area you most want to see, then leave time to explore its setting. Check the venue’s current opening and reservation arrangements directly; a place appearing on the map does not mean every building or gallery is accessible on your travel date.

Combine your visit

Suggested order within this visit:

  1. Lower temple group

Begin with the religious setting at the mountain’s foot.

  2. Middle-slope compounds

Read the transition between the lower courts and upper sanctuaries.

  3. Twin-summit temples

Finish at the upper focus only if the climb and current access suit your group.

This sequence is an editorial suggestion based on the features described in the sources. Access to individual buildings or areas should be checked locally; no travel time or shared admission is implied.
