About Zhaoxing Dong Village
Each tower belongs to a different community within the village, giving a walk through the lanes a series of distinct gathering places. The covered wind-and-rain bridges bring the architecture down to the stream. This is a lived-in settlement with a developed visitor economy, so combine the public spaces with the Dong Culture Museum and leave private houses to their residents.
What to look for
- Five timber drum towers mark the village’s community gathering spaces.
- Wind-and-rain bridges create sheltered crossings over the stream.
