About Kowloon Park
Bird Lake, the aviary and planted gardens provide different green spaces, while retained barracks buildings house the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre. Comic-character sculptures add another, more playful layer along one of the paths.
Combine one garden or bird area with the heritage buildings rather than trying to cover every sports facility. The barracks roofs and masonry make the earlier use of the site visible, while the planted routes show how that military ground has become an urban park. Swimming and other booked activities are separate from the general park circuit.
What to look for
- Bird Lake and the aviary introduce living-bird observation within the park.
- Former barracks buildings now house the Heritage Discovery Centre.
- The Avenue of Comic Stars displays figures associated with Hong Kong comics.
