About Xining Nanchan Temple
Its Chinese-style halls and courtyards offer a different architectural experience from Qinghai’s large Tibetan monasteries. The Guandi shrine is part of the historic complex. A visit works well with the surrounding Nanshan hillside, but the temple and park have separate approaches and their own opening arrangements.
What to look for
- Chinese-style halls and courtyards define the temple layout.
- The Guandi shrine connects the complex with the religious history of Phoenix Mountain.
