About Honghe Valley

The park lies on the Honghe river on the north slope of the Qinling in Yingtou town, Mei County, and adjoins the Taibaishan National Forest Park to its east; the Shaanxi provincial news portal puts it 130 km east of Xi'an and 60 km west of Baoji, while the China.com.cn feature carried by CNR in 2016 put it 120 km from Xi'an. The two sources count the park differently as well: three areas – Shilixia, Shenxianling and Wengongmiao – with more than thirty named spots in 2021, against four developed areas with more than eighty spots in 2016. The 2016 page adds that the park entrance is 26 km from Xiabansi and that the park can form a circular route with the Taibaishan National Forest Park, and the Shaanxi Daily reported in January 2026 that the opening of the Meitai expressway had linked Taibaishan, Honghe Valley and the Aoshan ski area.

Within the park the provincial portal names the Xiandong and Lianhua cave relics and lists features including the Taigong stone boat, the double-cave water curtain, the assembled immortals, the Panlong bay and the Doumu waterfall, whose drop it gives as more than 80 m; it also describes a plank walk on the red cliff, a glass viewing platform it calls the highest in the north-west, and a cableway on Shenxianling. The 2016 page says that on entering the visitor sees religious and cultural relics including the Jinglin and Xiandong temples and the Yuhuang pavilion and the Guanyin cliff. The park is described as specialising in leisure, summer escape, holidays and educational trips, with a large height range and an average midsummer temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, and the provincial portal says it has been called a wildlife park and a gene bank. It has seven holiday lodges with food and accommodation, and activities including rafting, zip-lines, slides and go-karts.

The city's culture and tourism bureau grades 红河谷景区 as 4A in its 2026 table and gives its address as 眉县营头镇, the town both newspaper sources also give. The bureau's table calls the site 红河谷景区, while the newspapers call it 红河谷森林公园. Neither the table nor either newspaper gives the park's area in hectares or its forest cover, and the prose therefore does not state them.
