About Yangjialing Revolutionary Site
Yangjialing is a historic Communist Party headquarters site in Yan'an, with cave dwellings, offices and assembly buildings in a loess hillside setting. It offers a direct view of the spaces associated with the Yan'an period.
The headquarters moved here in 1938, and the complex expanded with cave rooms, stone buildings and a central auditorium. Residences associated with several leading figures form part of the site. The contrast between hillside dwellings and formal meeting spaces helps explain how the location served both daily life and political organisation. Read the on-site interpretation alongside the buildings: the rooms alone do not convey the chronology of meetings and decisions. Yangjialing, Zaoyuan and the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Museum are complementary places, but they occupy different sites and should not be treated as interchangeable map names.
