About Jinhuyang National Forest Park
The prefecture administrative office's tourism page, credited to the prefecture culture, radio-television and tourism bureau, places the park in Zepu County, 36 km southwest of the county town, inside the Yasidun forest farm on the upper edge of the Yarkant River alluvial fan, and gives it a total area of 40,000 mu with 20,000 mu of natural poplar forest. It records the Kunlun Mountains in the distance and a tributary of the Yarkant River running through the park, and describes the park's seasons: birdsong and green trees in spring, dense shade and flowering trees in summer, leaves yellow as if dyed in autumn and snow in winter, with poplars standing in green water.
The China Daily item gives the park as 36 km from the county town and its natural poplar forest as 30,000 mu, against the prefecture page's 20,000 mu; this record attributes each figure rather than reconciling them. The same item records the poplars as fed by Kunlun snowmelt and described as noble poplars and water-country poplars, and records the park's management committee party secretary saying that visitor numbers have kept growing, with mainland visitors rising notably, and that daily visitor flow on holidays and weekends can exceed 15,000.
Inside the park, the China Daily item records Longevity Folk-culture Village as keeping the original rural minority house forms and as attracting many visitors. It records that the village keeps every household in place and encourages villagers to run food businesses and sell farm produce in the park, with eight farm restaurants averaging more than 100,000 yuan a year in a village whose per-capita income was once under 800 yuan. The prefecture page records that the park has been named Xinjiang photography hometown and a China Evening News photography base.
Neither page gives the park a boundary in the form a visitor notice would, and neither states which parts of it are open or how the park is administered.
