About Lop People's Village
The scenic area covers 134 square kilometres and lies 28 kilometres from the county town. It is described as known for folk culture and adventure tourism, combining desert, poplar forest, river and lake, with varied natural scenery and a good environment.
Inside the scenic area is a Silk Road bazaar (丝路巴扎) with craft products, food and folk-culture activities; visitors ride camels and take desert vehicles over the dunes. In the poplar season an autumn art festival for the desert poplars is held, when the trees along the Tarim River turn colour and visitors come to the place where desert, water and poplars meet.
