About Ta Village

The regional agriculture department, republishing an item credited to Xinjiang Daily, places Tagelake Village in Kekeya township at the foot of Tomur Peak and records that the county has built a rural tourism brand called Guiyuan Tianju · Ta Village (归园田居·塔村). The same page records that villagers' incomes have risen by transferring land, selling local produce and converting houses into farm restaurants, and names a Ta Village visitor centre of the Tomur scenic area (天山托木尔景区·塔村) with a car park beside it.

The Tuofeng Sky Road (托峰天路), a rural road about 52.07 km long, runs through the village. A report carried by the regional transport department records that the Ministry of Transport selected it in its annual Ten Most Beautiful Rural Roads list, that Wensu County began building it in 1998 and relaid its asphalt in 2021, and that car parks, service areas and road post stations along it were progressively improved. In 2024 the village, with just over 200 households, received 600,000 visitors, and villagers' per-capita income reached 28,000 yuan, nearly three times the 2019 figure, according to the same report.

The catalogue files the place under historic towns and villages, but the two sources describe a pastoral village at the foot of the peak whose tourism economy has grown since the late 1990s, and neither dates its older buildings, gives its area, or says how the village and its tourism facilities are administered.
