About Tianyu Natural History Museum
Dinosaurs and early birds are central to its identity, alongside fossil fish and other prehistoric animals. The mineral displays offer a useful change of scale, drawing attention to crystal shape and colour after the skeletons and fossil slabs. Treat the museum as a natural-history visit rather than a general county-history museum.
The museum opened to the public in 2004. Its exhibition area covers 28,000 square metres and contains 28 exhibition halls, with a research hall also provided. The collection holds more than 390,000 items, including dinosaur fossils, early-bird specimens and thousands of other fossils.

Getting to Tianyu Natural History Museum
Head to the museum on the western section of Lianhuashan Road in Pingyi town. Arrange the final local transfer to Tianyu Natural History Museum; it is a town museum, separate from the Mengshan mountain entrances.
