About Luoshan Mountains

The tourism area lies in Linglong town about eight kilometres from the centre of Zhaoyuan and is made up of two parts, the China Gold Live Expo Park and Luoshan National Forest Park. The expo park groups a gold museum, a mine-shaft experience zone, a live display zone and catering facilities. Zhaoyuan's government presents gold tourism as a result of the city's shift away from pure resource extraction and treats the Luoshan area as the hub of that effort, alongside Jinzhen, the Bijie ski slope and the Kuangshang art district. The area was approved as a national 4A scenic area in 2011 and as a provincial tourism resort in 2016. Zhaoyuan itself is styled China's gold capital.

The forest park covers a range said to run for more than a hundred li, with a main peak of 759 metres and over forty named sights. The municipal government puts vegetation cover above 90 percent and counts more than a thousand plant species and over eighty kinds of wild animal. Named features include Maogong Mountain, the Divine Turtle rock, the Lotus Basin, the Yuntun waterfall and summit, the One-Line-Sky cleft, Banxian Cave, Rijue Temple and Liugong Gully.
