About Micangshan Grand Canyon
The Micang mountains form an east-west arcing range at the transitional junction of the Qinling and Daba mountain systems, with the Hanzhong plain to their north and the Sichuan basin to their south; a Chinese National Geography feature describes the range as historically the necessary route from the Central Plains into the Sichuan basin, and says most of it consists of cone-shaped karst peak-cluster landscape in limestone and dolomite, with granite, metamorphic sandstone, limestone and dolomite making up its rock.
Within this range, a China.com.cn report on the scenic area's 2020 opening names features including Yixiantian, a narrow sky-line gap; the Qianlong Shiba Tan, a chain of eighteen pools; the Longtan waterfall and the Xiannu waterfall; the Qianlong cave; the Wangjiang cliff; and autumn foliage across the Micang slopes.
