About Shihmen Reservoir
Shihmen Reservoir occupies part of the Dahan River valley and combines water infrastructure with a substantial recreation landscape. Mountain slopes and the branching waterway create a different setting from a small urban lake, with several access points rather than one continuous promenade.
The dam, spillway views, nearby parks and waterside routes show different aspects of the site. A walk near the dam is not equivalent to circling the entire reservoir. Use the current map to distinguish roads shared with vehicles, walking areas and cycle routes.
Boat outings may provide another view of the reservoir's inlets, while nearby restaurants are associated with freshwater-fish dishes. Neither boat operation nor a particular water level is guaranteed. The reservoir's management and weather conditions determine what visitors can safely see and do on a given day.
What to look for
- The dam and designated views of water-management structures.
- Mountain-backed reservoir scenery from public paths and parks.
- Optional boat routes and nearby freshwater-fish dining.
