About Beijing Garden Expo Park

Its themed gardens allow comparisons among imperial, Jiangnan, and Lingnan design traditions, while the broader park includes woodland, wetlands, and Ying Hill. Yongding Tower marks the higher ground and offers a different way to read the garden setting when its viewing access is available. Choose a small group of gardens for close comparison rather than treating the whole former exposition as a checklist; the differences in enclosure, water, planting, and pavilion placement are the point of the visit.

What to look for

  • Regional garden designs: compare imperial, Jiangnan, and Lingnan treatments of water, rockwork, and buildings.
  • Ying Hill and Yongding Tower: look at how the higher landscape relates to the gardens below.

Location & getting there

Getting to Beijing Garden Expo Park

The municipal greenway guide directs subway arrivals to Garden Expo Park station on Line 14, Exit B2, for Gate 6 near Yongding Tower and Memory of Jiangnan Garden.

  • For a different garden cluster, choose the matching gate before setting out; tower access has its own booking arrangements.
General visit reminders

Allow room for the terrain and weather when choosing your route. Check the operator’s current trail, shuttle and cableway notices where applicable, and confirm the return connection before setting out. A broad landscape pin does not identify every trailhead or access point.
